1940s Charm Reimagined to Boost the Curb Appeal of This Home

A full exterior renovation gave a serious update to the curb appeal of this 1940s home. This extensive exterior renovation reimagined the exterior envelope of this home. New basalt stone stairs, driveway and Hardiplank shingle siding lifted the facade and gave the homeowners a whole new entrance to their property. Around the back, a new patio and BBQ cover extended their living space outside.

The colourful, modern facade doesn’t just look good, it brings a technical improvement to the home, improving energy efficiency through material upgrades that include high-efficiency windows, a moisture barrier system and waterproofing.

“It is a cliché to say a company’s greatest asset is its people but this is what impressed me the most about Flintstones.”

Client objectives

The homeowners wanted to change the external appearance of the home by giving it a more modern look, upgrade the building envelope and create more exterior space around the home.

Testimonial

“We undertook a four part project to improve the exterior ‘infrastructure’ of our mid 1940s house: renovation of old perimeter drains; replacement of a rotting, elevated wood deck/stairs with smooth concrete pad & cedar stairs; installation of stone front steps/aluminium railing over top of original concrete steps; wider, more functional driveway. It is a cliché to say a company’s greatest asset is its people but this is what impressed me the most about Flintstones. We appreciated the quality of the planning, communications and attention to detail in the work. We will use them again for other projects on our to-do list.”
