Walls Vanish, Light Floods, and Flexibility Reigns in this Contemporary Overhaul
Natural light and a contemporary interior now floods this 1956 Fernwood home. By removing a few key walls this space gained a flexibility that wan’t previously possible, with unrestricted flow between the living room and kitchen and a newly exposed staircase to amplify the open space.
Designed by Robyn Rothschild, this contemporary interior includes upgraded millwork around the fireplace, minimal fixtures that integrate with the existing home, and an open plan kitchen complete with breakfast bar and views to the backyard.

Client objectives
Tired of the small, constricted spaces in their typical mid-century Fernwood Home, these homeowners wanted to gain more space on the main floor with an open-plan kitchen and living room.
